§ 34-11. Fire extinguisher installers, service and testers; qualifications.

(a)

The provisions of V.A.T.S. Insurance Code, art. 5.43-1, are hereby adopted.

(b)

Each person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of installing or servicing portable or fixed fire extinguishers or fire extinguisher systems within the city limits of Haltom City, Texas, must have a certificate of registration issued by the state fire marshal of the State of Texas.

(c)

Each person, firm or corporation performing hydrostatic testing of department of transportation cylinders (fire extinguishers) must have a certificate of registration issued by the state fire marshal of the State of Texas, for each location.

(d)

Each employee, other than an apprentice, of persons, firms or corporations engaged in the business of servicing or installing fire extinguishers or fixed fire extinguisher systems must be licensed by the state fire marshal of the State of Texas, which authorizes such person, firm or corporation to service or install portable fire extinguishers or install or service fixed fire extinguisher systems or do hydrostatic testing.

(e)

Each person servicing portable fire extinguishers or fixed fire extinguisher systems as an apprentice shall have a permit issued by the state fire marshal of the State of Texas.

(f)

Before any person, firm or corporation performs any of the above services in the City of Haltom City, Texas, such person, firm or corporation must furnish to the city fire marshal of Haltom City, Texas, a copy of such registration, license or permit.
