§ 50-77. License fee; renewal.

  • (a)

    In order to defray a part of the expense necessary to provide for the surveillance, supervision and inspection of motor vehicle junkyards required under the terms of this article, there is hereby fixed a license fee, which shall be collected from any person operating a motor vehicle junkyard in the city in the amount $25.00 per year if the land used or to be used for such yard or business shall be one acre or less, and $50.00 per year if such land shall be in excess of one acre.

    (b)

    No license for the operation of a motor vehicle junkyard shall be licensed unless and until the city council has issued the certificate of approval under the terms of this article.

    (c)

    The license required by this article may be renewed from year to year, upon payment of the same fee as required for the original license, so long as the original certificate of approval remains in effect and the licensee strictly complies with all the requirements and provisions of this article.
