§ 31-7. Qualifications and standards of training for reserve officers.

Reserve officers must comply with the minimum training established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education for all reserve law enforcement officers which must be fulfilled before a person is appointed as a reserve officer and may carry a weapon or otherwise act as a peace officer. The chief of police shall establish qualifications and standards of training for reserve officers, but in no case shall the standards be less than established by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.
