§ 2-38. Removal from boards.

  • Members of boards and commissions, unless specifically provided otherwise by state law, the City Charter or the Code of Ordinances, shall serve at the will and pleasure of the city council, and may be removed from office pursuant to the following procedure: Upon a majority vote of the board or commission, the board or commission may submit a recommendation for a board member to be removed. The chairperson shall forward this recommendation to the council member who nominated the board member. The council member may, at his or her discretion, submit the recommendation to a vote of the city council. Upon the favorable vote of at least five council members, the council may remove the board or commission member from office.
