§ 8. Consistency with comprehensive plan.

Latest version.
  • As the zoning ordinance is one implementation tool for the city's comprehensive plan, the zoning ordinance shall be kept current and consistent with the goals and objectives of the comprehensive plan. Consequently, it shall be the policy of the city council that during the review of the comprehensive plan the appropriate implementation committee shall review the zoning on all undeveloped parcels of land to determine if the zoning in effect at the time is appropriate. If there are undeveloped parcels with zoning which has been in effect for at least ten years and if, in the committee's opinion, zoning is inconsistent with the comprehensive plan and no longer appropriate, a recommendation shall be made that a public hearing be called to review said zoning. Proceedings may then be initiated to amend the ordinance as specified in section 39, changes and amendments.
